The White House Effect (2024)
Watched on 2025-11-17

Obviously I'd like a 26 part BBC documentary in the style of the Great War/ World at War on the subject of global warming science vs fossil fuel lobbying over the course of the late 19th to the 21st century, but in lieu of that I guess this is decent enough sliver.
I appreciated the way it was all put together form archive footage but it did feel a little indirect and if anything can let people off too lightly. Fossil fuel interest knew about global warming way before 1977 when the documentary begins its narrative and the network of lobbyists and oil money extends way beyond the Whitehouse insiders like Sununu but the neat story the documentary tells doesn't have room for this (also, I imagine it's hampered by a lack of archive footage).
So yeah, a good start but it felt like only a part of the story.
